...even on harder-going tracks like the Ornette Coleman tune ‘Round Trip / Broadway Blues’ or ‘Missouri Uncompromised’ (the guitarist’s home state) Metheny is hardly razor-sharp in his approach, with a more composed fluidity to his playing rather than erratic shredding.
