CARLA COOK was born and raised in Detroit where, from the age of 5, music was just a part of growing up - singing in the local choir, dancing to Motown. In her teens her interest in jazz grew and she moved to Boston, then to New York.Her time in New York has afforded her continuous opportunities to work with varied and gifted musicians - from ESP (the former Miles Davis sidemen) to the Lionel Hampton Orchestra, from George Gee & His Make Believe Ballroom Orchestra to characters in Sony Playstation games.
