Here it is - the new Double-CD – 'Jan Allan 80' – with custom made music for Jan Allan, one of the greatest jazz musicians of our time!

The trumpet player Jan Allan has performed with the most well-known musicians and singers of the jazz world. Stars like Alice Babs, Monica Zetterlund, Stan Getz and, yes, the list could be very long!

In February 2014 Norrbotten Big Band and Jan Allan travelled the roads of northern Sweden on a big county tour. The day after the tour’s last concert, they recorded this production.

On the 7th of November 2014 Jan Allan turned 80. That’s why the Double-CD is called 'Jan Allan 80'. There is also another reason – Jan Allan earlier made a CD called 'Jan Allan 70'.

The music of 'Jan Allan 80' is custom made. A handpicked and colourful group of composers just got one directive from me, says Joakim Milder, artistic leader of Norrbotten Big Band: ”Think about Jan Allan and write a piece of music”. All the composers share a delight in and understanding of Jan’s trumpet playing.

The handpicked composers are Fredrik Lundin, Peter Danemo, Joakim Milder, Elin Larsson Forkelid, Cecilia Persson, Jan Levander, Håkan Broström and Ann-Sofi Söderkvist.
