About
The music of the Fields-Rath duo draws on the attributes of Early Music and New Music, both in the way written music is interpreted and in the way music is improvised. The duo was formed from the 2007 Cologne Music Triennial where Early Music Specialists were matched with New Music specialists, each pair playing similar instruments. In all of the compositions melodic material floats over a steady pulse.
