The Platypus Ensemble presents the subtle aspects of Chamber Jazz: four equals are having a musical conversation. Sid Hille’s music can be described as contemporary European Jazz. Exhibiting a refreshing sense of adventure and spontaneity, his orchestral compositions feature strong melodies, counterpoint and colourful instrumentation as well as free interaction. The Helsinki-based band was formed in 1997 and has extensively toured abroad - Germany, France, Switzerland, Sweden, The Netherlands, Belgium, Finland.
