Falla originally conceived the vocal part for a cantaora (flamenco vocalist) like Marina Heredia, whose raw, earthy timbre helps to make Pablo Heras-Casado's recording so memorable...The Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela play brilliantly throughout, and are particularly impressive in delicate passages.
