About

On his album ‘draad’, Jaan Bossier showcases works that reveal the full range of the clarinet that have accompanied and influenced him over the years: Enno Poppe’s energetic ‘Holz’, Mark Andre’s ‘Atemwind’, which explores delicate air sounds and almost whispered multiphonics, and Jörg Widmann’s ‘Fantasie’, which playfully blends elements of jazz, folk music, and classical traditions.

Klaus Burger’s ‘Omaggio a Luigi Nono’ combines bass clarinet and live electronics in a dialogue of sound and silence, while Brian Ferneyhough’s ‘La Chute d’Icare’ demands the highest technical and interpretative skill.

The title ‘draad’ - the Flemish word for wire or thread - symbolizes the connections to the composers and their works.
