Finland has a remarkable strength in depth when it comes to composers. While none of the six represented here can really be classed as heavy-hitters, they were all accomplished, as this enjoyable programme of violin-andorchestra pieces proves. However, apart from Merikanto's Concerto, all the works are receiving premiere recordings, so bravo/brava! to all concerned.
