About
François D’Agincour (1684–1758) was a prominent French organist and harpsichordist, active in Rouen and Versailles, whose 1733 harpsichord collection reflects the influence of François Couperin through its expressive pièces de caractère and elegant. François D’Agincour, born in Rouen in 1684, trained locally and in Paris, eventually becoming a prominent organist at Versailles’ Chapelle Royale and later at Saint Jean in Rouen. This music is performed on two harpsichord replicas (Hemsch and Dulcken) by Marco Borghetto, winner of the 2023 Wanda Landowska Harpsichord Competition.
