About
Melbourne Symphony Orchestra presents the second release in their Dvořák cycle with Chief Conductor Jaime Martín - Dvořák's Symphonies 2 & 8.
This new album follows the 2024 release of Symphonies 5 & 6, a critically praised recording noted for Martín’s fresh perspective on Dvořák’s lesser-known symphonic works. The MSO’s Dvořák cycle will be the first by any Australian orchestra, honouring the rich musical traditions and nationalism embodied by the Czech composer’s music.
This cycle also pays tribute to the MSO’s own home, with the artwork featuring picturesque landmarks from across the state of Victoria.
This release shows the beloved Melbourne skyline bathed in a pink sunrise.
