She connects Brahms' works with the musical influences of his time, particularly Baroque and medieval compositions that he himself rediscovered. Imorde explores which pieces Brahms knew and how they influenced his own music. The album opens with Bach's Menuett to emphasize this historical connection. Brahms, who was familiar with the Bach sons, arranged their works and appreciated their compositions. Imorde combines Brahms' piano pieces op. 119 with Handel suites and also considers arrangements by Theodor Kirchner. This creates a dialogue between the eras and a vivid picture of the classical canon from the Baroque period to the 20th century.
