A recording to celebrate 10 years of us performing Joseph Phibbs! The disc includes a new commission from the Richard Thomas Foundation, Quartet No.4 which was written for us specifically in mind. Quartet No.2 was a hit with audiences and critics alike while No.3 was commissioned by the Belcea Quartet and performed all over the world.

Yet it’s completely Phibbs’s voice that emerges through his wholly coherent and idiosyncratic – often understated, deceptively simple – use of quasi-tonal and rhythmic devices, with supple flickers of blues, Balkan folk and more.
