bastille musique presents its thirtieth release »Gustav Holst: Sāvitri« featuring the Opera Factory Freiburg, Siri Karoline Thornhill (soprano), Tilman Lichdi (tenor), Ekkehard Abele (baritone), Holst-Sinfonietta, SWR Vokalensemble and Klaus Simon (conductor).
The album combines a new studio production of Holst’s chamber opera Sāvitri and selected songs for soprano, tenor and baritone with chamber ensemble, partly as world premiere recordings. In addition to the recordings produced at the Hans-Rosbaud-Studio, the set contains an 80-page bilingual booklet (EN, DE) with the libretto, lyrics, texts by Bernd Feuchtner, Cornelius Bauer and a conversation with Klaus Simon, as well as photo supplements displaying pictures of the composer and the performers in the studio.
