DUX Recording Producers present a new recording of Polish romantic orchestral works in performances by the L?dz Philharmonic Orchestra and Wojciech Niedzi?lka under the direction of Pawel Przytocki. Zygmunt Noskowski's dramatic Symphony No. 2 'Elegiac', based entirely on traditional Polish motifs, is rarely performed, although it is in no way inferior to the most popular works of great symphonists representing other national schools, neither in richness of musical ideas nor in compositional technique. It is also in this work that the orchestra can shine to the fullest, showing a face of the music of the Romantic era, invariably attractive to listeners.

Henryk Wieniawski's Concerto in F-Sharp Minor remains within the romantic convention, and its virtuosic character remains a great challenge for violinists worldwide to this day. While creating this concert masterpiece, Wieniawski undoubtedly drew inspiration from similar works by Niccol? Paganini or Karol Lipinski. The soloist here is young violinist Wojciech Niedzi?lka, particularly notable for being the highest-ranking Polish performer at the 16th International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition in Poznan.

Although different in character, these works share a huge variety of motifs, from pathos and virtuosity to profound lyricism and reverie.
