But it’s Perry’s Violin Concerto and Perkinson’s Sinfonietta No. 1 which really strike home: the former superbly vivid and sometimes unsettling in its constantly changing tempos, and the latter propelled by a wonderfully intense, almost Tippett-like polyphony.
