About

One of the most brilliant cellists of his generation, Henri Demarquette’s career is intimately linked to contemporary music: the creator or dedicatee of numerous works, he is one of the favourite interpreters of contemporary composers.

But he is also deeply attached to Johann Sebastian Bach, whose six Suites BWV 1007- 1012 were his gateway to the cello and to music.

So, after recording them in 2002, Henri Demarquette returns to this musical thread with a second version: an approach that is still natural and intuitive, matured and polished to convey only the essentials of this absolute masterpiece.
