ALBERTINE EN CINQ TEMPS - L'OPRA Libretto: Collectif de la lune rouge after a play by Michel Tremblay Music: Catherine Major

Productions du 10 avril and ATMA Classique are proud to present the album Albertine en cinq temps - L'opra, with music by Catherine Major and libretto by Collectif de la lune rouge, based on the eponymous play by Michel Tremblay.

Six great Quebec lyrical voices portray the protagonist Albertine at various stages of her life: Chantal Lambert (age 70), Monique Pag (age 60), Chantal Dionne (age 50), Florence Bourget ( age 40), Catherine St-Arnaud ( age 30). Marianne Lambert portrays Albertine's sister Madeleine.

The recording of Albertine en cinq temps - L'opra was made at the Domaine Forget concert hall in Charlevoix following the stage premiere of the work at the Thtre du Rideau Vert, which was directed by Nathalie Deschamps.

Singer-songwriter Catherine Major already has four albums to her credit and as many tours. Her career successes include a Jutra for "Best Film Score" for Le Ring (Anas Barbeau-Lavalette), as well as the Flix-Leclerc de la chanson award, to name a few. She has collaborated on many projects, including the Corps Amour Anarchie - Lo Ferr tour. She composes for other performers, notably Diane Dufresne.
