Of the six works by JS Bach, CPE Bach and Telemann recorded here - father, son and godfather, by the way - only two were composed specifically for the oboe, namely the G minor Sonata by CPE Bach and the A minor Sonata by Telemann. But the other works are also suitable in terms of colour, range and texture for the instrumental combinations chosen by the performers.
