Elsa Benoit as Aricie sets the vocal standard with her gorgeous opening aria; Reinoud van Mechelen’s Hippolyte and Stéphane Degout’s Thésée match her, while the chorus and period band of Pygmalion under Raphaë lPichon are wonderfully committed, too.
