She was given her first violin lessons at the age of five. With effect from 2018, Nitzan Bartana is deputy leader of the Basel Symphony Orchestra. She has been a member of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra under Daniel Barenboim since 2008. The Israeli clarinettist Dana Barak has, alongside the classical repertoire, specialized in the performance practice of modern music; she plays with Ensemble Modern in Frankfurt and the Ensemble Phoenix in Basel. The Israeli pianist Roglit Ishay makes guest appearances as soloist, is a member of the Israel Piano Trio and was a member of the Dresden Piano Trio."
