About
Jazz, classical, contemporary, world? Born in Morocco to an Italian/Spanish mother and Portuguese father, the music of pianist and composer Jean-Marie Machado is free of borders and hybridizes to create a dialogue between different cultures and languages.
This project was developed around melodies Jean-Marie Machado had composed over several years, explored and reinvented here in a quartet featuring Keyvan Chemirani - percussions, Jean-Charles Richard - saxophones and flutes, and Vincent Segal - cello. From poetic reveries to emotions revealed and shared in Latin colours, the quartet delights in the freedom of space and interpretation that Machado directed for this session.
