About
Composer Keeril Makan contextualizes silence, connects past and present, and explores dream states and reality on BMOP/sound's Keeril Makan: Dream Lightly.
Opening with the title track, guitarist Seth Josel almost always plays harmonics, drawing and blurring the line between natural and traditional tuning systems and reality and imagination. If We Knew the Sky points the listener's gaze upwards while the music both transforms and remains static simultaneously. Makan imagines paths not taken on Tender Illusions. Regular BMOP players Charles Dimmick, violin, and Peter Sulski, viola, join the orchestra as soloists on Still, in which Makan uses the instrumentation of Mozart's Sinfonia concertante for his own take on the double concerto
