Jean Muller's debut recording presents a programme exploring Liszt's fascination with the myth of Faust. His Mephisto Waltz no.1 was influenced by the Faust of Austrian poet Lenau, whilst the completion of his 12 Transcendental Études in 1852 represented the achievement of over a quarter of a century of personal philosophical quest and musical and pianistic research.
