He instinctively knows how music chimes with words…Farahani clearly loves and seeks to honour the material as self-evidently as her pianist, Maurice Lammerts van Bueren, whose task is positively orchestral at times. But Farahani is no DiDonato in terms of acting through song…Good to have the pieces in the Heggie discography, though.
