I find these performances utterly fascinating, though it would be next to impossible to offer a comprehensive catalogue of the various colourful twists and turns that characterise Fischer’s performances (there are far too many of them).

Not only is it full of top-notch playing, but it also has plenty of interesting, if sometimes controversial, things to say...Fischer manages to forge his own path and find his own take on these works. The Danish players throw themselves into every accent and crescendo with great gusto, and I'm confident that even if you know these symphonies extremely well and already have several recordings, you'll still find plenty here to enthral, delight, and beguile you.
January 2020
Ádám Fischer’s pragmatic humane approach to performing and recording Beethoven’s nine symphonies makes this one of the most entertaining modern cycles out there...witty, volatile and full of energy
Classical Ear September 2019
Fischer the empowering musician always maintains essential tension ... dedicated musicianship communicated on an immense scale is yours for the taking.
