‘The Heresy Ostraca’ is an innovative album by the “Godfather of Irish Electronic Music”, Roger Doyle.

The 13 works are original creations taken from the studio recording of his critically acclaimed opera, HERESY. Arias, ensembles and instrumental interludes were broken up and fragmented in software. These fragments were placed across a midi keyboard and played into sequencing software. New rhythms and harmonies were layered in to complete the process which revealed unrecognisably new pieces which were formed from this re-assemblage.

An ostracon is a fragment of ancient pottery, usually broken off from a vase, that has an inscription scratched onto it.
