About
The Oratorio Wir sind Bettler ('We are Beggars') is dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. The Italian-Argentine composer Daniel Pacitti translates the core messages of the Reformation in Christian Meissner's libretto into a musical guise. The result is a perfectly balanced mixture of different musical styles – from medieval chorals and traditional songs from the Reformation to the late Romanticism of Italian operatic culture.
