About
A split CD presenting contrasting aspects of ‘Berlin reductionism’. Firstly Roananax 1999 - an archive recording by the quartet of Axel Dörner, Robin Hayward, Annette Krebs and Andrea Neumann. All four musicians were leading figures in the emergence of Berlin reductionism, though the music isn’t necessarily what you’d expect.
The second half of the disc - Obliq 2014 - presents the work of a current Berlin group from a recording session at Amann studios in Vienna. The music affords a fascinating contrast with the sounds of Roananax 15 years previously.
