‚Is it possible to capture three distinct periods of guitar and lute music spanning two centuries on a single CD? Yes, I thought to myself, and so in this spirit grabbed my guitar, a handful of high quality microphones and a digital recorder and isolated myself in the meditative atmosphere of a small Gothic church deep in the heart of Germany‘s southwestern Markgrafler region. It was there that I undertook the task of recording this CD, which contains music written from 1530 to 1730 and includes the composers Mudarra, Milan, Narvaez, Dowland, Frescobaldi and Bach.‘ (Marc Seiffge)
