There have been numerous J.S. Bach cycles on CD and they have featured historic organs of Bach’s time as well as those that play his works on modern day instruments. There has never been though recordings to feature his works played on British cathedral organs although churchgoers will hear it regularly before and after services. Priory’s first CD – Bach at Durham, (PRCD 1179) was warmly welcomed and presented here is David Halls playing a recital of Preludes and Fugues on Durham’s sister organ at Salisbury. Following on from this three more are recorded from Chester, Liverpool and Lincoln.
