About

Another of those stimulating, engaging programmes in which Garrick Ohlsson specializes: this all-Falla recital combines works originally written for the piano with the composer’s own transcriptions from his classic ballet and opera scores.

Ohlsson may not inhabit Manuel de Falla’s sultry and exuberant piano-writing as Alicia de Larrocha or Javier Perianes do, yet he embraces the idiom with ease and fluidity, and leaves few small details unnoticed.
