While Dvořák’s Sonata is at times somewhat reticent, its understated charms are well worth investigating, particularly in Tamsin Waley-Cohen and Huw Watkin’s thoughtful performance which balances volatility in the outer movements with affecting sensibility in its more lyrical passages…[in the Suk] Waley-Cohen and Watkins balance virtuosity with a strong sense of line.

Waley-Cohen and Watkins articulate that overall narrative beautifully…Above all, it feels as though these performers have got the scale of this music just right: nothing forced, no obvious straining for effect, just fresh, thoughtful and committed interpretations shot through with poetry and alertness. This is real chamber music.
