About
Johann Sebastian Bach’s cantatas are an almost immeasurable treasure of the most diverse musical forms, ideas and moods of that time. The bass Henryk Bohm, together with the Gottinger Barockorchester (Gittingen baroque orchestra) under the direction of Antonius Adamske, presents a cross-section from the cantatas based on Christoph Birkmann’s texts, thus reaffirming the overwhelming variety in Bach’s work. Henryk Bohm began his musical career at the age of nine with the Dresdner Kreuzchor. He studied at the Hochschule fur Musik “Carl Maria von Weber” Dresden with Professor Christiane Junghanns, and further in master classes with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Peter Schreier, Werner Hollweg, and Brigitte Fassbaender. He is a winner of the 12th International Robert Schumann Competition in Zwickau, of the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang in Berlin, and a scholarship holder of the Deutscher Musikrat.
