This is a highly entertaining CD with music written, arranged and played by Paul Ayres. As a composer and arranger he has received over 100 commissions and his works have been awarded prizes around the world. He particularly enjoys “re-composing” classical pieces and “classicising” pop music. This CD is typical of his output and amongst others features pieces based on Beatles tunes as well as a highly inventive piece wound around Bach’s famous Toccata and Fugue in D minor.
