Thierry Escaich is Maurice Duruflé's successor at the organ of the Church of Saint-Étienne-du-Mont in Paris.
He is also one of leading French Composers of today and has composed more than 125 works.
His Clarinet Concerto is performed in this album by Paul Meyer, probably the best clarinet player over various repertoire for decades, also acclaimed today as a conductor.
Escaich Opera “Claude”, in collaboration with Robert Badinter and commissioned by the Opera National de Lyon, was his last major success in 2013 ; he made his Orchestral Suite after it.
Thierry Escaich was awarded “Composer of the Year” by the Victoires de la musique Classique 2017
