April 2017

Farr's unswerving authority, scrupulous phrasing and rhythmic playing make this a revelation.

May 2017

Farr’s approach is altogether more muscular and dynamic….Farr is joined by John Butt in an electrifying, heroic performance of almost primeval energy. There are excellent contributions too from the terrific Scottish tenor Nicky Spence…

March 2017

The performance of all this music is ideal…It is a stunning achievement. The sound quality of the recording is perfect: it makes the listener feel they are present at the venues. No better compliment can be paid.

29th January 2017

This is a major achievement. Stephen Farr triumphs in his massive survey of the output of Kenneth Leighton, a towering figure in British 20th-century liturgical music – one who instinctively understood the context of his compositions.

Classical Music April 2017

The enterprising Resonus label plugs another hole in the market with a most intriguing collection. Farr is on inspirational form in repertoire that deserves to be much better known: Leighton’s late, plainsong-inspired Missa de Gloria, for example, could well be his masterpiece. Superbly recorded on three instruments...this is an indispensable release.
