Ronald L Caravan, a performer of equal accomplishment on clarinet and saxophone, has spent most of his professional career playing, composing, and teaching in Syracuse, New York, including serving for 35 years on the faculty of the Syracuse University School of Music. Sar Shalon-Strong, one of central New York’s most highly regarded professional pianists, maintains a busy and varied solo and collaborative performing schedule while also serving as a member of the music faculty of Hamilton College in Clinton, New York. This eight-volume series “Single Reed Expressions,” features unprecedented recordings presented with uncommon artistry by the aforementioned musicians. Each individual release boasts over an hour of music, and all eight volumes contain seventy pieces total. The work of 46 composers are included, such as Brahms, Weber, Debussy, Schumann, Bernstein, Berg, Husa, Adler, and many more.
