Commissioned by the London Sinfonietta, the Hyperlude IV was premiered at Kings Place, London on 25 March 2015 by the violinist Thomas Gould. The piece is part of a series of short pieces for solo violin and could be understood as a contemporary 'Partita'. To date Francisco Coll has composed five Hyperludes.
