About
Misunderstandings and plot twists abound in this opera buffa. The Opéra Royal de Wallonie (ORW) ended its 2014 season with La Gazzetta, a comic opera by Rossini taken from a play by Carlo Goldoni. The plot revolves around the bizarre idea of a man who decides to find a husband for his daughter through an ad in a newspaper. This production includes, for the first time ,a quintet found In 2012 by the librarian of Palermo's Conservatory: authenticated by US musicologist Philp Gosset, it has been given back its rightful place in Act One of Rossini's opera.
