These outstanding recordings dating from 1952 and 1956 feature Clara Haskil at a time when her fame was still on the rise. Unlike almost any other pianist, her perceptive, unpretentious artistry was able to bring Mozart’s music to life in such a natural way, that it truly deserves to be described as “timeless”, even some 60 years after the recordings were made. Clara Haskil’s performances of Mozart’s concertos Nos. 9 and 19 are stunning, and Carl Schuricht is equally impressive in his supporting role.
