About
What Heinrich Schütz (1585 –1672) published in 1650 under the title “Symphoniae sacrae. Tertia Pars. Opus Duo- decimum. Deutsche geistliche Konzerte für fünf bis acht obligate Stimmen (Singstimmen und Instrumente), Complementum ad libitum (Sing- stimmen und Instrumente) und Basso continuo”, proved to be a kind of fermata in the course of musical history; a turning point in two respects – as a collection of works, which pointed the way to the future, and as a summation, a statement and an organized, ordered summary of the past. Under the direction of Hans-Christoph Rademann, the Dresdner Kammerchor [Dresden Chamber Choir] and the Dresdner Barockorchester [Dresden baroque orchestra] perform together with renowned soloists.
