The cast is at least solid, and in some cases a good deal more. In her role debut, Ingela Brimberg offers a memorably intense and intelligent Elektra, commanding attention with her concentrated physical performance as much as her tireless vocalism. it’s the totality of the experience, above all, that impresses and lingers in the memory. As an outdoor spectacle, it must have made an indelible impression, and even on film its impact is utterly extraordinary.
