About
In the framework of Capriccio’s Kurt Weill edition the second CD-Box now offers a collection of the prestigious recordings of well-known stage works of the composer. Beside the complete recording of The Rise And Fall of the City of Mahagonny, rarities like his first comical opera The Tsar Has His Photograph Taken contribute to this well-rounded portrait of one of the most important theatre composers. Also included is the operetta Shady Dealing which, in the spirit of Offenbach, is witty, with a socio-political background.
