About

A talented composer whose works are unfairly neglected, Nicola Francesco Haym was the librettist of many Handel operas. The musicians of L'Aura Rilucente evoke the relationship between the two artists with tenderness and brio in a programme juxtaposing trio sonatas and arrangements of operatic arias.

Awards and reviews

Early Music Review 27th September 2015

Heriberto Delgado Gutierrez and Sara Bagnati beautifully realise his [Haym’s] plangent suspensions and deft counterpoint, splendidly supported by Silvia Serrano Monesterolo on cello, Jorge Lopez Escribano on keyboard, and particularly Maximilian Ehrhardt on harp … A most enjoyable issue.

September 2015

[Haym's Trio Sonatas] are firmly in the Corellian mould, yet, despite some awkwardnesses, are attractive and individual enough to merit this little outing. L'Aura Rilucente choose to interleave them with trio sonatas from Handel's Op. 2, which are both richer and longer…their playing is stylish and accurate too, full of smartly observed articulation, phrasing and ornamentation.
