About
Canadian soprano Peggy Bélanger completed her studies in singing at the Québec Music Conservatory, under Hélène Fortin. She is particularly sought for her interpretation of the music from the Classical and Baroque periods and sings regularly with various groups and companies in America and Europe. Thanks to a grant from the Marco Fodella Foundation, she specialised in early music with the renowned countertenor Roberto Balconi, in Milan. Her latest recording dedicated to the 'cantatrice' Strozzi is published by the Italian label Stradivarius and has already been praised by European press and by Fanfare Magazine.

I could listen to Peggy Bélanger for many an hour. She is very communicative and superbly captures the contrasting moods of Strozzi’s language. Her diction is used with expressive intent and is totally clear … the performances are ideal, the music memorable and texts are well translated. The recording, made in a north Italian church, is totally clear and well balanced … What’s stopping you buying it immediately?
