About

Anthony Ritchie’s Symphony No.4 was written for the ChristChurch Symphony Orchestra and dedicated to “those in ChristChurch who have suffered in the [2010/2011] earthquakes”. The work’s principal point of reference is a publication entitled 'The Way of the Cross', which brought together images of the 14 controversial sculptures that Llew Summers crafted for the ChristChurch Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in 2000, and a collection of poems by Bernadette Hall which are essentially meditative reflections on these sculptures.

Jenny Wollerman studied at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, and after further study at the Banff Centre, Canada and the Britten-Pears School in England, returned to pursue her career in Australasia. In New Zealand she has performed with all the major organisations, including NZ Symphony Orchestra and NZ Opera. She is currently Senior Lecturer in Classical Voice at the New Zealand School of Music.

Tom Woods has conducted all the major Australian symphony orchestras. Since 2007 he has been a frequent visitor to New Zealand, where he is currently Conductor Emeritus of ChristChurch Symphony Orchestra.
