About
This unique transfer of fondly-remembered performances by two of the finest conductors of ballet music in the first decade following World War II restores to the catalogues some very fine accounts; the first is of music from Adolphe Adam's deeply-loved ballet 'Giselle' under the legendary Richard Blareau, coupled with Tchaikovsky's 'Nutcracker' Suite played by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra under George Weldon. The result is an attractive and most welcome release, superbly transferred through modern technology to bring these enchanting performances to life for today's audiences.
