The major discovery here is Hans Sitt's Op. 39 Albumblatter, six Schumannesque miniatures that Zimmermann nurtures and caresses with a bewitching range of tonal colours, further enhanced by Thomas Hoppe's pitch-perfect accompaniment.

This collection of Romantic pieces is remarkable for the outstanding quality of the playing. Tabea Zimmermann and Thomas Hope give every indication of enjoying the music and it's evident that they have given much thought to the essential character of each piece...a fascinating programme, with wonderful performances.

Throughout this recital, he [Hoppe] makes his presence felt with his imagination and sensitivity, and he does so without upstaging Zimmerman at any point. (Granted, that would be difficult, because her tone is both soulful and refined.) ...anything lovelier than this would be hard to come by.
