Beat Furrer`s new opera Wüstenbuch is based on texts several texts from ancient egypt writings to contemporary authors.
The desert (german: Wüste) is for Furrer a base where he can place his drama without a plot. The music and texts create an rich and complex atmosphere full of history and poetry. In addition to opera there are also 3 pieces of the composer on the second disc - giving a more detailed insight in his music.
