Matthias Kreher and Ralf Mielke develop a breathtaking atmosphere in Sclesi’s “Ko-Lho” duo opening an exquisite program of chamber works by this Italian composer for various instrumentations. “Xnoybis” for violin solo is notated on three staves; the piece circles around a central tone to be produced on three individually tuned strings. In addition, a Schnarrdämpfer produces tonal distortions – difficulties of the highest order that Andreas Seidel makes sound easy with his fine touch for subtle tonality
